In collaboration with Chongqing Tongxin primary school (重庆童心小学), ACC Environmental Protection launched a marine pollution interactive class series in the summer of 2019. The classes were designed to raise marine conservation awareness through interactive mini experiments. For each session, a class of 50 primary school students are assigned into groups of 4. Each group is given a set of mini experiment tools, including a toy fish, a small box of water resembling the marine ecosystem, and a set of glass bottles containing "pollutants."

In each interactive course, ACC lecturers narrated the story of fish bobo who wants to swim through the ocean to find his turtle and polar bear friends living in other ecosystems. However, throughout the course of his journey, he has to swim through marine ecosystems polluted by laundry wastewater, industrial pollutants, oil spill, and plastics. While the lecturers tell the story, students are instructed to pour each pollutant that bobo encounters from the glass bottles to the box of water with the fish toy inside to reenact his experience. Through this experience, students would be able to visualize the contamination they heard from the story. In the second half of the class, the lecturers would give a presentation on the causes, severity, and solutions for different marine pollution problems, and each group of students would be encouraged to try to clean up the polluted water in their box using tools including a sponge, fishing net, etc. Our team hopes that this course design would not only help students to realize the severity of marine pollution but also be encouraged to come up with solutions to address the challenges we face today. By the end of each session, each participant would receive a small bag of vegetable seeds as a present from ACC and are encouraged to share their learning experiences today with their families to spread awareness and start becoming part of the change.
